As we enter the year 2024, our binge-watching habits remain unchanged, and it seems that Arab productions are going to be the talk of the town. Netflix MENA has revealed a sneak peek into its upcoming releases, hinting at a diverse lineup of nine projects set to grace our screens. These projects will span across Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. From intriguing new narratives to the return of fan-favourite series, there's something for every viewer to look forward to.

One of the most anticipated highlights is the release of the Egyptian series "Echoes of the Past". The series features an outstanding cast including Mahmoud Hemida and Asser Yassin. Additionally, fans of the popular series "Finding Ola" can rejoice as the show returns for its second season. Hend Sabri will reprise her role alongside a new cast member, Dhafer L’Abdine.

FINDING OLA - SEASON TWO

Egypt

"Finding Ola" is coming back with its second season, and it features actress Hend Sabri and newcomer Dhafer L'Abidine. The show boasts a talented cast that includes Sawsan Badr, Hany Adel, Nada Moussa, Mahmoud El Leithy, Acel Ramzy, Omar Sherif, Yasmina El-Abd, and Tarek el Ebiary. The series follows Ola as she navigates through the challenges in both her business and personal life, pushing her towards self-reinvention. The journey is directed by Hadi El Bagoury and produced by Hend Sabri and Amin al Masri. The show is slated for release later this year.

ECHOES OF THE PAST

"Echoes of the Past" (Mawed Ma' Al Mady) is a limited 8-episode series that is set to premiere this year. The show features an ensemble cast, including Mahmoud Hemida, Asser Yassin, Saba Mubarak, Sherif Salama, Shereen Reda, Rakeen Saad, Mohamed Tharwat, Mohammed Alaa, Tamer Nabil, and Huda Al Mufti. Directed by Al Sadeer Massoud and written by Mohamed el Masry, the series follows Yehia's quest for vengeance after his sister Nadia tragically dies. The show is produced by Charisma Group, with Mohammad Mashish serving as the executive producer.

AL RAWABI SCHOOL FOR GIRLS - SEASON TWO

The popular Jordanian series "Al Rawabi School for Girls" is returning to Netflix on February 15th with its second season, after a successful first season. The show will introduce a fresh cast, featuring emerging Arab talents like Tara Abboud, Sarah Yousef, Tara Atalla, Kira Yaghnam, Thalia Al Ansari, and Raneem Haitham. Created by Jordanian director Tima Shomali, the series aims to address contemporary issues like bullying and self-image, offering a portrayal of characters navigating the complexities of high school life. The ensemble cast will guide viewers through the challenges of adolescence, as produced by Filmizion Productions.

MASAMEER JUNIOR

The beloved characters of Masameer County are back in Masameer Junior with their familiar wit and humour. This time, three brave six-year-old kids - Trad, Saltooh, and Saad - set out on a journey to find heaven after their teacher warns them about an unpleasant fate. Written by Abdulaziz Al Muzaini and directed by Malik Nejer, Masameer Junior is set to be released in 2024.

BASMA

Saudi actress and filmmaker Fatima Al-Banawi makes her directorial debut in the Netflix film ‘Basma’, where she serves as the writer, director, and lead actress. The drama explores mental health as Basma, a young Saudi woman returning to Jeddah after studying in America, confronts challenging family truths.

THE EXCHANGE - SEASON TWO 

Kuwait

The Exchange is returning to Netflix for its second season after a successful debut. This season will feature Mona Hussain, Rawan Mahdi, Mohammed Al Mansour, Hussain Almahdi, and Faisal Alameri. The series is directed by Jasem AlMuhanna and produced by Abdullah Boushahri. It was created and written by Nadia Ahmad, Anne Sobel, Adam Sobel, and Rulan Hassan. The show follows the captivating journey of Farida and Munira as they navigate the Kuwaiti stock market during the 1980s.

HONEYMOONISH 

Kuwait

"Honeymoonish" is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Hamad and Noor as they navigate their whirlwind marriage that takes an unexpected turn. Through a series of misunderstandings and surprising revelations, the film explores the complexities of love and the opportunities for second chances, offering a heartwarming journey. The movie stars Nour AlGhandour and Mahmoud Boushahri, written by Eiad Saleh and directed by Elie El Semaan. It is scheduled to be released early this year.

DUBAI BLING - SEASON THREE

The popular Arabic reality show is back with its third season, featuring eight exciting episodes. The show provides an in-depth insight into the lives of well-known personalities and new members of the Dubai Bling community. In season three, viewers can expect to witness new relationships, evolving aspirations, and ongoing drama among the cast.

LOVE IS BLIND, HABIBI

"Love is Blind, Habibi" is a new show that will soon be aired in the Arab World. Hosted by Elham Ali and Khaled Saqr, the show is a social experiment that follows the journey of young single Arabs in the UAE as they set out to discover genuine love. The participants of the show will meet others who share their values and aspirations for a family, aiming to form deep connections and propose without seeing each other. As they prepare for their weddings with the involvement of friends and family, the series explores whether they can overcome external obstacles and physical appearances to find lasting love.
