Rare Ancient Egyptian Treasures Will be Auctioned in New York City

A rare collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts will be auctioned next month in New York City. The international auction, organized by Christie's auction house, will feature archaeological pieces from various ancient Mediterranean cultures that date back from 3000 BC to 200 AD. 

Some of the highlights of the auction include a Pharaonic schist stone obelisk from 1330-1250 BC that was once part of Baron Empain's collection. The auction will also feature engraved gemstones from the late Dr. Corin Bronfman's collection, as well as a life-sized Roman marble statue, a Roman marble altar, and a Roman bronze flower from Louis de Clercq's 19th century collection.
